Look what just arrived! My copy of Tone It Up: 28 Days to Fit, Fierce, and Fabulous! If you don’t already know about Tone It Up, let me know tell you these ladies are so amazing. Created by Katrina Scott and Karena Dawn, the Tone It Up fitness and health brand, is a fun, energetic, girlfriend-to-girlfriend approach to working out, eating healthy and being our best self. Tone It Up is a whole-body, whole-life way of being that starts with respecting our body and taking care of ourselves inside and out.
I’ve been watching Tone It Up workout videos for about 5 years now and it’s been so great to see the brand grow to include fitness videos, cookbooks, protein supplements, apparel and so much more! Just check out their website! I love Tone It Up because you know these girls live and breathe the Tone It Up brand. They are so honest and real – you just can’t fake being authentic these days. Karena and Katrina definitely practice what they preach.
It was a few years back that I decided to get back to a healthy lifestyle. I decided to use a trip to Portugal to really jump start my efforts. My goal was to wear a bikini on the beaches of the Algarve. But I was far from fit, and even further from being “bikini ready.” For about four months, I maintained a pretty grueling training period of morning runs and evening strength training sessions. Yep – I was doing 2-a-days about 5 days a week, plus running about 7km on the weekends. To help keep myself motivated – especially on those cold winter mornings when I’d get up for a run at 6am – I would watch the Tone It Up motivational videos on Youtube. My alarm clock would go off, and I’d grab my phone and click the play button. Hearing Katrina and Karena talk about being fit, living well, feeling great and looking great, always made me get up out of bed and hit the cold running trail. It really worked for me every time. I incorporate their workouts in my current fitness journey and I’m always happy to try new recipes. My favourite – protein pancakes, of course!
Earlier this year, they published Tone It Up: 28 Days to Fit, Fierce, and Fabulous. Of course, I just had to get it. The book features a 28-day program that incorporates brand-new fitness routines, delicious recipes, and mental and spiritual practices to help us transform our bodies and our attitude so we can bring out the gorgeous goddess within ourselves.
Don’t be fooled by the fact that these girls are gorgeous, look hot and run around on the beach a lot. Karina and Katrina put in the work! Their workouts are tough (they are both certified trainers), the nutritional tips are effective and their brand is centered around making you feel good in your whole life.
