In My Apartment: Living Room

I haven’t done an apartment update in a while. Updates have been few and far between for the past year. With the exception of a bar cart, window blinds and something for the fireplace, I’m mostly done the living room.

At first I over-styled the fireplace mantle. But then I removed absolutely everything and plan to start over again from scratch. But at least I got the mirror up. Can you believe I got it from Zellers?!! (RIP Zellers). The two paintings by the entry way are from Homesense. I ordered the For Like Ever poster from Village Type & Design. It took about a month to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. After it appeared on the cover of Domino Magazine, I couldn’t get it out of my mind. I had it framed with a 1 inch white matte. Perfection! I have lots of knick-knacks from my travels.  As long as it’s tasteful and aesthetically pleasing, I like collecting items from where ever I go.  My favourite so far is the wooden oval bowl from Costa Rica. It’s made from indigenous tree bark – complete with teeth marks from some wild forest animal no doubt. But that’s what makes it so special and one-of-a-kind.
