It’s almost officially summer! My summer (non-alcoholic) specialty is making homemade green iced lemon tea. I make this almost every weekend during the warmer months. It’s cold and refreshing. Plus it’s so easy to make, with ingredients you already have in your kitchen.
8 cups of water
2 green tea bags
3/4 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice
Slices of fresh lemon to garnish
Using a large saucepan, boil 8 cups of water. Remove from heat and drop in 2 green tea bags. Cover and let steep for 1 hour.
In a large pitcher, combine the steeped tea and the sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved, then stir in lemon juice. Refrigerate until chilled. Before serving, garnish with thinly sliced lemons in the pitcher or on the rim of the glass. Then enjoy!
