The Christmas season is a special time of year. But it can also get pretty hectic with shopping, eating, drinking, office parties and social gatherings. I like to be prepared for last minute invites, extended party hours and midnight touch-ups by keeping my beauty bag extra loaded with travel-sized essentials. These are the 8 essential Holiday beauty products that I like to have in my make-up bag at this time of year.

Oil Blotter Sheets; by the end of the work day, my face starts to melt. But for an after hours Christmas cocktail, I want to put a curb on my shiny nose. Proactive’s Oil Blotter Sheet does the trick. Just a quick dab on my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin is all I need to zap up excess oil and get ready for the evening.

Pressed Powder; Once I’ve used the blotter sheets, I use some pressed powder to freshen up my skin. I find pressed powder also diffuses my pores and softens my complexion. I like M.A.C’s Blot Powder/Pressed in Medium Dark.

Mascara; To open up my eyes so I don’t look half tired on arrival at a Holiday soiree, I use as much mascara as my lashes can hold. I find a good coating really opens up my eyes. For a glam evening, I go for M.A.C ‘s Opulash in Black.

Eye Kohl;  A thin coating on the lower waterline helps to make me look awake and brightens up the face as well. I’ve been using M.A.C’s Eye Kohl in Fascinating.

Highlighter; For cheeks instead of applying more blush which just makes my face look extra red, I apply a small dose of highlighter above the cheek bone. It makes my complexion pop without going more rouge. I’ve just started using Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up. It’s available in an extra small travel size. Perfect for on-the-go touch-ups.

Lip Balm; Nothing is more unsexy than a woman at a party with dry, chapped lips. I’ve been using Nivea Essential Lip Care to avoid such a disaster.

Matte lipstick; I’m not a glossy girl, so before an evening out (and after applying lip balm), I like two or three coatings of my fav matte lipstick. I find a matte stays all night and doesn’t rub off too much on my wine glass. This Holiday season, I’ve been loving SWL Collections matte lipstick in Sexy.
