I’m typically all about the red, but when I looked over to my beauty counter the other day, I noticed a resounding about of pink. Since when did I become a pink lady? I am not exactly sure, but there is no doubt, rose pink seems to be my colour of the moment.
Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien is a rose pink on my complexion. I’ve been using it in the morning to get myself out the door to work. Since it’s a pencil, I don’t need a mirror to apply and there’s really no getting it wrong. The Nars lip pencil doesn’t last too long, but by the time I get to work I apply over top with Tarte LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint in in the colour Hope (since I keep it at work it’s not pictured here). Considered a “warm rose,” this product doesn’t disappoint and I’ve become absolutely obsessed with layering it on throughout my day. It has a velvety smooth finish, doesn’t dry out my lips and packs a high performance punch.
Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in the colour Chihuahua is another one of my favourites. It’s described as a “dusty mauve,” but on my complexion, Chihuahua is more of a pale pink than purple. I’ve been wearing it to church. It’s just the perfect hint of colour that’s not too overwhelming and just the right amount of appropriateness.
This summer, I also couldn’t go most days without a heavy dusting of Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Charisma. This warm golden apricot colour is actually less peach and more golden pink on my complexion. I really enjoy it because it’s great for layering with a bronzer or even highlighter.
Since it’s September and we’re almost officially into Autumn, I will predictably change my pink tune and transition into reds and purples. But for at least a couple more weeks while it’s still hot, I’ll be getting the most out of my pink beauty products.
